A Summer Frost

When her husband dies tragically and unexpectedly, Mary Squires is left homeless and destitute with two young children to support. At first it looks as though she will have to leave her beloved Yorkshire and go back home to mother - not a prospect she relishes.

Then Irish showjumper Patrick Brogan makes Mary an unconventional proposition - that she should move in, lock, stock and barrel, with him. Despite the raised eyebrows of her straitlaced neighbours, Mary accepts, drawn to Brogan by an attraction that frightens her with its power; but the two soon find their strange, tempestuous relationship is fraught with misunderstandings, and only in the abandon of lovemaking can they achieve harmony. . .
