And the crows they still wing, still wheel only closer now - closer now - closer to me. These sly corbies are birds of death. They've shadowed me all mah life.'

Outcast, mute, a lone twin cut from a drunk mother in a shack full of junk, Euchrid Eucrow of Ukulore inhabits a nightmarish Southern valley of preachers and prophets, incest and ignorance. When the God-fearing folk of the town declare a foundling child to be chosen by the Almighty, Euchrid is disturbed. He sees her very differently, and his conviction, and increasing isolation and insanity, may have terrible consequences for them both...

Nick Cave was born in Australia in 1957. He moved to London with his band The Birthday Party in 1980. Four years later he founded The Bad Seeds, with whom he has made many albums. The fifteenth, Push the Sky Away, was released to great acclaim in February 2013. Cave has also written the music for several films, including The Assassination of Jesse James and Lawless. And the Ass Saw the Angel was first published in 1989 and quickly became a cult classic. His second novel, The Death of Bunny Munro, was published in 2009.

ROA is a Belgian born artist. As a mural painter his main canvas is the public urban space and he often explores desolate places such as derelict factories and abandoned ghost towns (such as Doel in Belgium and Kep in Cambodia). Animals have been central to ROA's work from an early age and continue to inspire him: he depicts them as still lives - sleeping, dead or alive - in the urban landscape, estranged from their origins. In the past few years ROA has travelled across the continents, painting large-scale murals in Johannesburg, Mexico City, Paris, London, Sydney, New York City, the American Navajo Nation, the Australian Outback and the African Mangroves.
