80 years ago, a lush valley was transformed into a home for the victims of leprosy who came here clinging on to the hope of recovery. In this valley their hopes were realized. Today, the National Leprosy Control Centre in Sungai Buloh which was once known as the Valley of Hope has stood tall as the symbol of hope. Virtually isolated from the outside world for almost four decades, not much has been told about this place and its residents. In this book, we relive, through the eyes of an insider, the story of the Valley of Hope for it will soon become history.
